Well, welcome to Tuesday, hopefully the day will go well for everyone. Today, I'm answering the Ten on Tuesday questions from Roots and Rings. She got todays questions from Abby and the Adventures of Abby and Ryan.
1. How do you take your coffee on an average day? How do you like your coffee if you’re splurging?
I like to drink coffee, but this year I've been trying to eliminate caffine from my diet. I used to drink a Dr. Pepper (or two or three) everyday and now I'm down to one every few days. That said, I'm trying to eliminate coffee drinking because I like my coffee with a lot of creamer (hazelnut or vanilla) and a ton of sugar. So, I figure it's better for me to drink an Earl Gray tea with two sugars when I'm in the mood for a warm drink.
2. What is your genre of books to read?
Lately I've been reading Christian based novels that are set in early America.
3. Where do you want to retire, if you could go anywhere?
Hmm, this is hard. I LOVE Texas but I think states like Tennesee and the Carolinas are so beautiful! I'd retire in Texas, have a house in Tennesee, Bahamas, Colorado and France (Apparently I'm going to be loaded when I retire) ;)
4. The 17-year-old you is told to write a 10-minute speech. What topic would you have picked?
At 17, I was a Senior in High School. I'd probably talk about my faith or my hopes for my future. (I had no idea what I was going to study in college)
5. What word describes you best?
I don't know how to answer this. I should probably have a standard answer in mind for this question, you know, for moments like this; but I don't. I don't know about THE word that describes me best, but one word that describes me is: Caring
6. What is the next “event” that you are looking forward to? (ex.: vacation, moving, date, job change, etc)
I am looking forward to August 6th, my birthday! I am hopeful for all the things my next year has in store. And my honey and I are planning a vacation, don't know when or where but I'm already excited.
7. Do you like to discuss controversial topics or do you prefer to avoid those types of conversations?
I don't normally discuss controversial topics, I think I'd like too but I usually don't find too many people who bring up those things. In general, I avoid confrontation so it'd be hard for me to join in a heated debate.
8. Would you rather add 4 free hours to each day, or add 1 extra day to the week?
I think I'd rather add 4 free hours to each day. Free meaning not working! I always have so much I want to do when I get home but before you know it, it's time to go to bed. :(
9. If you created a sports team; what would your colors and mascot be?
I would create a team called the Princess Ponies, our mascot would of course be a pony and our colors would be pink and purple. Just Kidding! Kinda.
10. If you had to be a teacher, what subject would you teach?
I think being an Art teacher would be a lot of fun. Or I'd teach English, that was an easy subject for me.
Well, maybe you learned something about me or maybe you didn't. Either way, Happy Tuesday.

Vacation, I Think I Love You
Ahhhh - Vacation! I love it! When I'm on vacation, and all relaxed and enjoying myself, I always wonder WHY do I not live like this? Why do I not live on a cruise ship? Or on a beautiful island? Or even in the beautiful countryside of Austin. WHY?! Anyways. . .
We recently went on vacation with our besties, The Payne's, and we had such a great time. We decided to go during the week to a) take days off work and b) miss the crowds.
We made a genious plan to get up early Monday morning and drive to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels (the best water park ever), then stay in Austin, go to the Natural Bridge Caverns and Barton Springs on Tuesday, and of course go shopping in San Marcos on Wednesday.
Schiltterbahn in New Braunfels (in my worthy opinion) is the best waterpark around. The rides are fed by the Comal River so the water is fresh water and COLD! The 'old' part of the park is the best part for me. They have new rides that are fun but they have long lines. The park lets you bring in your own ice chest so we didn't have to pay for food. I highly recommend it if you've never been. It was as much fun as I remembered!
Tuesday was the caverns and Barton Springs. We only took pics at the caverns. That was a cool tour.

Barton Springs was fun, I had never been before; it was cool and by cool I mean I CAN'T FEEL MY FEET - I'M FREEZING! We saw a topless chick . . . anyway, nuff said.
Oh and Tuesday for lunch we went to The Saltlick, which was delish BBQ restaurant. Us girls had a good time shopping the bargans at the San Marcos Outlet Mall on Wednesday, we barely had time to stop for lunch - too much to do!
Hmm. . . what else? We stopped at Bucees going up and coming back - which was awesome. I had a Dr. Pepper Slushy which is the best flavor ever!
And last but not least, I made the best road trip playlist of all time - I was the master DJ blaster yo!
Up Around the Bend - CCR
Ready to Run - Dixie Chicks
Come On Over - Jessica Simpson
I've Been Everywhere - Johnny Cash
Here It Goes Again - Ok Go
Float On - Modest Mouse
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas
Famous In A Small Town - Miranda Lambert
How Do you Like Me Now - The Heavy
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
Me and Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin
Walking on Sunshine - Glee
The Distance - Cake
Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams
Here I Go Again - Whitesnake
Red Dirt Road - Brooks & Dunn
King of the Rodeo - Kings of Leon
Seven Nation Army - The White Strips
Small Town - John Mellencamp
OK - I'll stop now but there were more!
Needless to say, we had a blast and really enjoyed being out and about in the Austin area with our friends.
Where should we go next?!

It's July!
WOW! I can't believe it's already July. One year ago, on July 4th, we moved into our first house! I can't believe it's been a year already. I REALLY can't believe that I've been getting up at 5:30 everyday to carpool with my husband to downtown. I thought that idea would last a few months, but apparently we're used to it now... kinda. :)
We didn't do much this holiday weekend except sleep late every day. My parents and our friend Chris came over for dinner on Saturday, which was fun! (I made the worst burgers ever) Sunday night we hung out with our friends, The Paynes. (they made the best burgers ever) We all went downtown to watch the fireworks. Let me tell you, I do not advise this. Not only could we not get very close to the park:
But we got stuck in traffic FOR AN HOUR! Really it was insane. The worst traffic I've been in after an event. We saw a chick fight, several fender benders, someone backed into a wall, someone blew a vuvezula in our car window and several people got into yelling matches (not us of course). It looked like this:
We were all laughing at everyone so it was fine for us, but still an hour of sitting in a parking lot is a bit much. Then we went back to our friends house and popped fireworks and played guitar hero. We're hard core partiers!
Overall, we had a great 3-day weekend! See:
