Baby Bump Update - 7th Edition

So, we are reaching the final countdown a-la Europe style. 19 days and counting!

Dr. Visit:
I'm down to weekly visits to the Dr. now.  I'll spare you the details but basically little guy shows no signs of making his debut.  My blood pressure and his heart rate are good.  He is measuring "good".  Apparently if everything is as it should be, my Dr. just says "good".  So, I'm going to take that for what it is and assume everything is normal or she'd say something.

I've gained a total of 29 lbs.  I am not completely horrified by that number but I hope it doesn't increase too much over the next 3 weeks.  That said, I know baby needs to gain weight so I'll try to maintain my weight and let him grow.

Bump:
You can check out the bump page for a view of the whole progression.

Food Cravings:
I wouldn't say I have any cravings specifically.  I'm still just stuck on sweets and have been for awhile now.  That could possibly, maybe be what's contributing to the number on the scale, but I'm not positive about that.  ;)  With several baby showers, I've had plenty of sugar and my sweet tooth is LOVING it.

Sleep:
Eh.  Some nights I crash and sleep for 5-6 hours at a time.  Other nights, I'm up 3-4 times.  It's like I have a baby in my belly or something.  Haha.  Gods way of preparing me I guess.  It's not so much the getting up that bothers me because I can usually go back to sleep; it's just that I wake up still tired and sore.  Sometimes I wake up feeling like there's a baby sitting on my sternum.  Haha.

Movement:
All the time!  Baby boy is so big now that I feel him everywhere, all at the same time.  He is constantly moving around in there, which is a good thing.  Makes me want to meet him.

Exercise:
I try to exercise. . . TRY being the key word there.  My hubby and I go on walks around the neighborhood and about two miles is all I can take.  It is sad.  I did go to the gym the other day and do some light arm and shoulder exercises.

What I'm Looking Forward To:
We are very much looking forward to meeting our baby.  I know he should stay in my belly a few more weeks, but we're ready and can't wait to finally hold him!

There will probably only be one more baby bump update after this!  Whooo Hooo!

Baby Bump Update - 6th Edition

I'm 33 weeks pregnant now. . . man oh man, this is going by so slowly yet so quickly at the same time.  You can catch up on the previous 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th bump updates if you like.

Dr. Visit:
I just went to the Dr. on Friday.  I now have an appointment every two weeks.  They weigh me, check my blood pressure and check the babies heartbeat.  His heartbeat was 144 which is good and strong.  The bad news, I've gained a total of 30 lbs.  As much as I'd like to exclude this info from you, I'll be honest since I was all like excited I only gained a little weight in the beginning.  Now. . . yeah. . .not so excited.  The doc said I could even loose some weight.  So. . . I'll try.

Bump:
I created a new page where you can see all the bump pictures.  Also, here are the last few weeks since my last post:

29 weeks

30 weeks - Easter weekend

31 weeks - we missed this week (sad face)

32 weeks - yes I know, I'm wearing the same outfit
as my Easter pic.  Don't judge!

Food Cravings:
I'm still craving sweets but as of my Dr. update above, I need to give these up and start some regular exercise.  I've been trying to eat heathy for my meals and I think I do an ok job.  I just need to cut the sweets and start some exercise.  I've gotten over my cravings for pickles, and my obsession with orange juice, and I'm starting to move on from ice cream.  So, if you see me, don't offer me chocolate or any type of dessert!  Mmmm-k?

Sleep:
Yeah. . .  about that.  I am not really having trouble falling asleep it's just that I'm uncomfortable all the time and wake up frequently.  I've now gotten a pain in my right hip that is getting worse.  We bought a body pillow to help support me while sleeping and it's helping, but now I wake up sweating.

Movement:
Baby boy is moving around a lot.  He's getting bigger now and I can feel his movements in several places at the same time.  I don't think he really shifts positions much because I get kicked on the right side and at the top of my tummy all the time, my left side is harder like a back or a bum is over there. I like feeling his movements but it's most uncomfortable at work.  I can't scoot close enough to my desk without my belly being smushed and he pushes against it which really hurts.  Then if I move my belly back, I can't reach my keyboard and so I lean over all day which hurts my back.  It's quite fun. ;)

Oh yeah and the mood swings are back but we won't go there!!!

So, as much as the aches and pains are annoying and uncomfortable, I know it'll all be worth it in the end.  As long as he's heathly and growing big and strong then I'll be ok.

Until next time!

Baby Bump Update - 5th Edition

Well I'm 28 weeks pregnant now!  I can't believe we only have 81 days left!  That is so crazy.  You can catch up on the previous 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th bump updates if you like.  If not, that's cool too.  :)

Dr. Visit:
I just went to the Dr. on Friday.  All things are good.  The babies heartbeat was 144 and I've gained a total of 18 lbs, which is fine I guess.  I know I'll gain more but it's just weird seeing that number on the scale.  But whatever is best for baby!  The Dr. told me I'll start going to see her every two weeks now.  I can't believe it's that time already.  We get to have another ultrasound on the 18th so that's exciting!

Bump:

26 weeks

27 weeks

28 weeks

Food Cravings:
Anything sweet!  I'm not sure what it is about pregnancy and ice cream but ice cream is so great right now.  Of course, I've always loved ice cream and anything chocolate but now I can't get enough of either.  This worries me a little bit.  I just don't want to add unnecessary, unhealthy weight.  I'm going to try and eat better. . . Try!  Other than the sweets, I feel like I make descent if not good decisions about what I eat.  What really needs to happen is a trip to the gym!  But that's another discussion.  :)

Sleep:
I have my good days.  Last night, for example, I slept like a log.  But more often than not, I'm tossing and turning and up and down.  It's not a horrible nights sleep but definitely not as refreshing as I'd like.  I think I may keep Curtis up too.  He probably wouldn't tell me if I was though.  He's nice like that.

Movement:
Baby boy is moving around a lot. His movements are getting a lot stronger and I think he's getting big enough to where I think I felt his head once and I think I felt his bum too or maybe it was his back, who knows!  KOC - Kind of Crazy (that one's for you, Becky).

Well, I have more pics of the babies room so I'll post an update on that soon.  I'm loving the way it's coming together.  I hope ya'll have a great rest of the week!

Baby Bump Update - 4th edition

Hey everybody, it's time for another baby bump update!  It's been only 3 weeks since my last update but it seems like forever.  You can read the previous 1st, 2nd and 3rd bump updates if you like.

Dr. visits:
I'm 25 weeks pregnant now.  I just went back to the Dr. on Friday.  I didn't see the Dr. because she was in surgery and I didn't want to wait hours for her to be back, so I just saw the nurse.  My blood pressure is normal and the babies heartbeat is strong.  I took the glucose test on Friday as well.  I've heard horror stories about that test and it was pretty gross, but not totally unbearable.  The worst part was having to drink it all in 5 minutes, that's what started to gag me.  I haven't heard the results yet, but I'll let ya know.  I've gained a total of 11 pounds so far but I think it would have been more if I hadn't have gotten really sick twice in a row.  I told you about how I got a kidney infection and before that I came down with pleurisy, so that was fun.

Clothes:
I've been looking for some maternity clothes, but really I don't like them!  The stores are offering stuff that is SO not my style.  I'm going to have to buy some short sleeve stuff soon because it's getting too hot for the stuff I do have.  I just bought a pair of maternity shorts that are cute, so that's good!

Bump:

23 weeks - Taken at my sisters wedding!

24 weeks

25 weeks

Sleep:
I've been sleeping pretty well, except for the 3 or 4 am wake up call to use the ladies room.  Also, I keep getting cramps in my calves in the middle of the night.  I think I scared Curtis half to death, one night I got a really bad cramp and I shot up in bed and was all like "OW! holy cow that hurts" and his alarm went off at the exact same time.  He must have thought the world was ending.  :)

Movement:
I'm feeling him move so much more lately.  Some of his moves are actually visible now from the outside which is weird but very cool.  I'm not sure I notice any specific times he's more active but it doesn't seem to last too long before he gets tired and goes back to sleep (I assume).  He liked going to church yesterday and was moving a lot, Curtis got to feel a couple of good kicks.  My friend Mandy likes to wake him up to make him move, so she'll be responsible for making him take naps after he gets here.  ;)

Other News:
My belly button has pretty much disappeared.  It only took a few weeks for it to go from normal to flat, and Curtis was doing a daily check on it.  Haha.  I bought a few really cute outfits for the baby which is so exciting and he's been getting cute clothes from his aunts and grandma's already.  We still have so much to do to prepare for his arrival so we're going to have to buckle down and get a lot done - and soon!  I feel the time is ticking away.  (Isn't that a song? Haha).

I hope everyone has a great week and I hope we all stay well, no more sickness!

Baby Bump Update - 3rd Edition

It's time for another baby bump update.  If you missed the 1st edition or 2nd edition, feel free to check them out.  It's been awhile since I last updated so we have lots of news.

Dr. Update:
I am now 22 weeks pregnant.  I can't believe we're already more than half way through, time is flying by!  I have gained a total of 10 pounds but I'm not sure how much longer I'll be willing to share that update with you.  :-) We just went to the Dr. last week and had our mid-pregnancy ultrasound.  It was so great to see the baby more developed and it was even better to hear that the baby is growing normally and everything is in it's proper place.  What a blessing!  The ultrasounds was cool, although half of the time I couldn't really tell what I was looking at; but they checked the kidneys, brain, stomach, arms, legs. etc.  So all is good!  We also found out that we're having a BOY!  (Cue the blue confetti) Which is SO very exciting.  It's funny because my friends and family said on my facebook post how great boys are but I know if we were having a girl, everyone would be just as excited and say just as much nice things about girls.  We would be happy with either a boy or girl, but it's even more exciting now that we know it's a boy.   :)

Clothes:
I am officially not fitting in much of anything.  I'm still trying to make some of my regular clothes fit because a) I haven't had time to go shopping and b) I don't want to spend the money on clothes that are not that cute and I won't wear long term and c) I'm in denial that I no longer wear the same size. . . SIGH.  I know I'll soon have to go shopping but we'll see how much longer I can wait that out.

Bump:
Maybe I'm just not used to seeing myself like this but I swear I look better in person.  Or maybe I'm just not photogenic.  Or maybe we always take the pics late and night and I have the long day showing on my face. Haha, if you see me, just tell me I look beautiful anyway.  ;)

19 weeks

20 weeks

21 weeks

22 weeks

The difference between 19 and 20 looks huge, but maybe it was just the non-maternity shirt I was trying to squeeze myself into.

Sleep:
For the most part, I am sleeping well.  I don't have to get up too much and I usually sleep through the night. I  have always been a stomach sleeper so the whole side thing is kinda hard to adjust too.  I'm more comfortable on my back, but apparently you're not supposed to sleep on your back after the 4th month?!  So, I'm confined to my left side.  For some reason, my right side is not nearly as comfortable.  Whatevs.

Food:
I'm still trying to eat healthy of course, but it's getting hard with everyone giving me free reign to eat whatever 'because you're pregnant'.  I need someone to say "I know chocolate cake for dinner sounds good, but think of your baby. . . here have some carrots!" So, next time you see me, offer me an apple or something. Haha.

Movement:
I can feel him move from the outside now.  Curtis was able to feel him about a week and a half ago.  It's hard to let other people feel him move because it happens so quickly and it's hard to find him in there.  It's so cool to feel his moves more strongly now.  Now I know why pregnant ladies are always holding their bellies, it's because you can't not put your hand there to feel him kick.  It stops me in my tracks every time.

Mood Swings:
I'm not going to lie, these may be coming back from time to time.  Or maybe they just lay and wait for me to get a little frazzled then they rear up like a mighty lion. (wha?) I know I sound like an annoying and nagging wife, but the mood swing in me takes over and I can't stop sometimes.  I am thankful to have a hubby who loves me anyway and just gives me a hug instead of hating me.  If only he knew what things I didn't say.

Other News:
We started the process of registering and I'm now looking for furniture.  I think we may have found some bedding with the help of my friend, but I may check a few other places.  Next time I go to the doctor, I have to have the blood glucose test, which I've heard is not so fun but we'll see.

I'll keep you updated over the next few weeks, so stay tuned if you'd like.  :)

Baby Bump Update - 2nd Edition

I'm back with another baby bump update, you can see the first one here.  Since my last update, I've been to the doctor for a checkup, gotten sick with some sort of yucky cold and officially had to go shopping for clothes.  Here are a few more updates:

Dr. Update:
I went to the doctor about a week ago and all is well.  I've gained a total of 4 pounds and the baby's heart rate is going strong.  That's about it.  They really dont take alot of time for chit chat.

Clothes:
I'm still not wearing the maternity pants, they just fall down and are annoying.  So, I'm still wearing my regular pants and just looping them together with rubber bands.  I went shopping and got a few shirts.  I'm not loving maternity clothes, I think they're not that cute.  So, I'm trying to find 'regular' clothes that are long enough to fit.  I guess once I get super big, I'll have to switch to maternity clothes full time.  Oh boy!

Bump:
Last time I posted week 13 and 15 pic (we skipped week 14) so here are the next few weeks. Some of our pictures are not turning out as model-esk as I'd like, but here they are none the less.

Week 16

Week 17

Week 18

Food:
I'm doing my best to eat healthy.  To be honest, I'm really just craving sweets but I'm trying to stay away as much as possible.  Although, I did buy a gallon of ice cream the other day.  I'm also trying to bring healthy snacks with me to work. It's harder to eat healthy on the weekends though.

Movement:
I'm feeling the baby move more now although I wouldn't say it's regular.  It still not really like a kick or a punch or anything, just a rolling around type of motion.  It still surprises me when it happens though.

Mood Swings:
I've gotten confirmation from my hubby that my mood swings are better.  I'm not feeling very moody but I thought I'd ask him just in case.  :)

We're going to the doctor in a few weeks to find out what we're having.  We're so excited!  I'm ready to know if our baby is a boy or girl, it seems like we'll be able to make more decisions once we know what it is.  You know. . . like a name, decor, registry items, etc.  We're very excited to find out.  :)
