What Happens In Vegas. . .

. . . Stays on Facebook and YouTube forever.  HAHA.  Luckily we didn't do anything on our recent trip to Vegas that would be embarrassing if it just so happened to be posted online.

We are so blessed (and extremely thankful) to have family available to keep our little guy so we could have a few glorious days away.  I really enjoyed sleeping in, coming and going on our own time, getting dressed before noon (on my part, Curtis is always dressed before noon), eating my food before it got cold, and even taking afternoon naps.  Oh how I was spoiled.

 Love this guy!

We stayed at Caesars and it was SO beautiful.  I've never stayed in such a nice hotel room, I loved it.  It was quite a hike from our room to the lobby, but there was a Starbucks on the way (in the hallway) so if I needed a pick-me-up. . . there it was!

All of the buildings in the pic are a part of Caesars

 Even the bathroom was beautiful!

We spent our mornings having a long breakfast/brunch on the patio at restaurant at Paris (the hotel).  Then we'd walk. . . and walk. . . and walk. .  and then walk some more.  If you go to Vegas, be prepared to walk.  We went to all the different hotels, looked around, did some shopping, some eating, and some relaxing. Luckily the weather was beautiful, not too hot at all, so the walking was nice!

 We ate here every morning

Looking up from our breakfast spot

The first night we went to Fremont street, which is an entertainment district in downtown Vegas.  They had live music, street artists, zip lining over the street, and of course more casinos.  There were several very talented artists there! I would definitely recommend going there at night. . . just because of all the lights!

 Live Music

The second night, we saw the Cirque De Soleil show LOVE.  It's the beatles show.  We had awesome seats.  The show was really fun and I of course loved the music!!  It was like a party!

So close to the stage!

 A lot of fun!

The third night we went the The Wynn and saw the show La Reve.  It's a water/acrobatics show.  We really enjoyed that show as well.  The set designs and coreography on these shows is really amazing.  I can't imagine how much work goes into those shows.  They sure are fun to watch!

The stage before the La Reve show started. . . pretty cool!

The stage after the show was over

The Wynn was one of the prettiest hotels I've ever seen.  It was also one of the most expensive we found in Vegas, which is why we didn't stay there.  :)  They had several restaurants and we ate at a Asian food place that was decently priced and decently delicious, haha.

Here are a few more pics from our trip.  I'm so happy and thankful we were able to get away for a few days.  But we sure did miss our little guy.  Reportedly, we did so good and was on his best behavior without us.

We had dinner with these guys one night

Water show at the Bellagio

I got a new shirt while I was there.
Alone time shopping therapy was awesome!

Oh on a side note. . . Caesars had an escalator that was curved.  Never seen that before!

Leaving. . . on a jet plane
Love you Babe!!

Ten on Tuesday

This weeks questions are sponsored and provided by Chelsea at Roots and Rings.

1. What is your favorite Pixar movie? Have you seen all of them?
I have seen all of the Pixar movies and I love them. . . I'd have to say my favorite is Monsters Inc. or Finding Nemo.  I can't even tell you how many times I've watched Monsters Inc. (Because it's a lot!)  Kitty!

2. Do you enjoy soccer?
Um. . the last time I played was probably in elementary school and I enjoyed it then.  So yes I enjoy playing soccer.  I don't watch much soccer, but usually the players are hot so I don't mind watching soccer. (Sorry honey. . . no one is as hot as you. . . no, seriously!)

3. Are you musical?
Not at all.  I played the flute in the junior high band but I was not that good at it.

4. How many push-ups can you do?
Ugh! I hate push ups.  Seeing as I'm currently doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, I can probably do 15 or 20.  Don't tell Jillian, but I always stop doing push ups before she tells me too.

5. Did you have braces when you were younger?
Yes.  I hated them, but thank you mom and dad for giving me a beautiful smile!!

6. Summer or winter? Coffee or tea? Wedges or flats?

Both.  Both.  Flats!

7. Do you buy new or used cars?
Both.  Thanks to my parents (again), I've only had to purchase one new car out of all my cars.  I think we may purchase our next car new. . but that's a few years away, so we'll see.

8. Are you afraid of needles?
I don't mind having my blood drawn or having a shot, but I can't watch. . . that part causes me anxiety.

9. Do you get cranky when you’re tired or hungry?
Um. . . I don't think so.  Babe, what do you say?

10. Write your newest favorite recipe.
Hmmm. . . These twice baked potatoes were SERIOUSLY delicious!

Our Bigger Boy!

I mentioned in one of my recent updates that Micah had dropped on his growth scale for weight.  He didn't drop in weight, he just didn't gain as much as he should have.  We changed his feeding schedule a bit and went back today for a weigh in.  I'm happy to report he's gained almost 2lbs in 6 weeks.  He weighs in at 17.9lbs today.

He'll probably always be on the slim side but we're just happy he's gained weight as he should.  God has answered our prayers!

Yay!

10 Month Pictures

Ok, I finally took Micah's 10 month pictures and after you see these, you'll know why it took me so long to work up the energy to take these.  Micah does NOT want to sit still for anything.  He doesn't want to sit at all.

I may have to start taking these with someone else to help me.  Daddy may need to make a debut in the next set of pics.  :)  Maybe then I could get some pictures that are in focus, but probably not!

It's very challenging to keep him from falling off the couch and take a picture.

He hates laying down. I'm surprised he doesn't sleep standing up.  But I'm glad he doesn't. . . that would be creepy!

He fussed the whole time.

Still not happy, so mommy gave up.

Until next time!!  :)

Ten on Tuesday

I'm back at Ten on Tuesday once again.  These questions were provided by and sponsored by Chelsea at Roots and Rings

1. Who is your favorite talk show host?
Um. . . I guess Jimmy Fallon.  I'm not up that late most nights but when I do catch him, I think he's pretty funny.

2. How do you style your hair on a daily basis?
Blow dry and run a straightener through it.

3. If you were stuck in your bedroom for a week, what would you need in order to not go crazy?
My tv/dvr, a book or two, and some sort of fabulous chocolaty dessert. How about my hubby and baby?  Can I have them in there too?

4. What are the best non-reality shows on television?
Most non-reality shows I watch are drama or sit-com.  I watch Grey's Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and Person of Interest.

5. Do you mow your own lawn and clean your own house?
We do not mow our lawn but I do clean my own house.  I'm indifferent about the lawn (meaning I wouldn't mind mowing every once in awhile. . . assuming my hubby would mow the majority of the time) but I would love a house cleaner.  As you know, I hate the scrubbing kind of cleaning.  It just takes so much time and effort!

6. As an adult, what is the best part of summer?
I have always been working during the summer. This is the first summer I will be home with a baby (that's not a newborn) so I'm looking forward to some pool time, some play dates with my teacher friends, some vacation and some family gatherings!

7. If you could ask one celebrity one question, who and what would you ask?

Um. . . I would ask Jen Arnold, from The Little Couple, if she would be my friend.  She just seems so nice!

8. Post a picture.

9. How many books do you read a year?
I try to read at least 12.  I think I'm falling way behind that quota this year.

10. Which national chain makes the best delivery pizza?
Absolutely, without a doubt - Pappa John's!

Micah is 10 Months Old

I can't believe only two more 'sticker' pictures until Micah turns 1 years old!  It's all happening so fast.  I am so thankful I am able to stay home with our baby everyday and enjoy all the little things.  We are bad parents because we were actually out of town on his 10 month birthday, but we weren't gone long, so hopefully he'll forgive us.  I'll give you more info about where we went soon.

Micah is a pro at crawling now.  He can book it to anywhere he wants to go.  We don't have any stairs in our house so I don't think he can crawl up or down a step but I'm not sure.  He has buns of steel because he is standing up, sitting down, standing up, sitting down ALL DAY LONG.  It's all he does.  He'll even do squats sometimes.  He'll go to sit down but before he does, he'll stand all the way up again. I should just mimic his actions all day and I would be ripped!

He does some cruising.  He will move along the furniture some, but he doesn't do it exclusively.  If he's standing at one end of the couch and wants to go to the other end, he'll mostly sit down and crawl to the other end.  He likes to grab a toy in each hand and then try to use his hands to pull up on something.  He then drops the toy, sits down to grab it and starts all over again.  This is also a never ending task.  :)

He's started to like books more which is so fun.  If you bend the back of the book so that the page sticks up in the middle, he'll turn the page for you.  He likes his 'colors' book and his 'animals' book.  He even starts to fuss when I stop reading the books, it needs to be HIS idea to stop reading; not mine.  His ABC book is a little too long for his liking, so we don't make it much further than 'K' but that book has a lot of words compared to the others.

He's cut two more teeth on the bottom.  So he has his front four teeth on the top AND the bottom.  I am still surprised when I get a glimpse of all his teeth.  He just looks so different to me with all them chompers.

He's turned into such a great eater.  He was never a bad eater, he just didn't care for solid foods at first but now he eats anything and everything.  I feel like we feed him SOO much food that his tummy might pop but he keeps putting it in his mouth.  Usually, I fix him a plate of a variety of foods and feed him all of that, a jar of baby food and then I'll top him off with a few ounces of formula.  It seems like a lot but he still doesn't seem like he's put on a lot of weight.  We have to go back to the doctor soon for a weigh in and I don't know if he will have gained much weight.  I guess we will wait and see.  Please say a little prayer that he's gained some weight by then.

P.S.  I haven't gotten his actual 10 month picture taken yet but I will do that and re-post this with those pictures.

Have a good day!
