Showered with Love

Curtis and I are just overwhelmed by the kindness and love showered on us by all our friends and family.  We really didn't expect the level of blessings that everyone gave us.  We were so blessed by our friends and family throwing us two showers and both our companies throwing us a shower as well.   We received everything we needed and then some.  It's been such a blessing to experience this and we are truly so very thankful!  Plus there were yummy yummy desserts and that's the way to my heart.

We love you and thank you all!

Here are some pictures from a shower thrown by my family:
Cutest decorations - There were clothes, pom poms, pinwheels,
paper flowers, and so much more.  It was adorable!

The food was delicious!

And so was the cake!  It's so cute - Love my Mrs. Debbie!

Here are some pictures from a shower thrown by my church girls:

It's like my birthday - only better!

Delicious food, awesome cake balls, and cutest decorations!

We really are so thankful!  I know I said blessed a lot but that's really how we feel.  What an amazing circle of people God has given us!

Love you,
Stef

Ten on Tuesday

This weeks questions were provided by Chelsea herself!

Side note - so I'm going to be a mom any day now.  I'm not sure exactly what day, but it will definitely be by this weekend.  Yay!  I'm so excited but also getting very anxious about this fact.  What a major life change!  I'll update you with baby pics as soon as possible.  :)

1. What’s the recipe for your favorite drink? (Smoothie, alcoholic, coffee, whatever.)
Hmmm. . . I like Almond Tea that my Auntie Carol makes. Steep 1 family size tea bag in 2 cups of boiling water.  Add 1 cup of sugar, 6 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1.5 teaspoons of almond extract.  Add 6 more cups of water.  I recommend it!

2. What kind of razor do you use?
Ummmmm. . . the blue one?!  I can't recall the name of it.  I've used the same one for so long that I just know which blades to buy, not sure of the name.

3. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
It has been years (Years I Say!) since I last watched Sesame Street.  I'm not sure I remember all the characters but I guess I would say Cookie Monster (because I too love cookies).  And as simple/annoying as Count Von Count is, it is kinda funny the way he counts.  Bahaha.
4. What makes the perfect salad? (Lettuce type, toppings, dressing, etc.)
I like iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomato, cheese, sunflower seed, carrots, eggs, thousand island and croutons.  Yum!

5. What was your favorite subject in school?
I enjoyed English.  I didn't like the reading poetry part as much but I was actually good at the whole diagramming sentences and finding the conjunction stuff.

6. What’s your favorite summer tradition?
Schlitterbahn!  It's this amazing waterpark in New Braunsfels TX and I've always loved it there.  We used to go there a lot as kids and we went back last summer with some friends.  It was as much fun as I remember.  I can't wait to go back!

7. Do you suffer from season allergies? How do you combat them?
Yes I do.  I either take Zyrtec or I use the netti pot.

8. How often do you have to charge your cell phone?
All the time.  My droid is starting to crap out on me and I need to replace it soon.  If I have one phone call that lasts more than 3 minutes, I have to charge my phone during the day.  So I charge it twice a day basically.  It's getting annoying!

9. Do you have a bucket list?
Not exactly.  I could probably make one if I sat down to write it; there are several things I know I'd like to do before I die.  I'd like to go to Spain, travel to Prague, go to Napa and. . . .  I guess most of them are travel related.

10. Do you have any desire to go back to school?
Not at all.  I can't say I would NEVER go back to school, but I don't really see any need to go back to school.  Maybe I'll go to cooking school.  That would be oh so cool!

Nursery is Complete!

Yay!  We've finally finished the nursery and I love it!  I think it's so cute.  I had a lot of help though!  My honey painted the whole room and my mom helped me hang most of the things on the wall and I asked my friends for their opinions until I annoyed them to death.  ;)

The room has so many cute elements - a hand drawn picture, a wooden train, tons of stuffed animals, and I love all the prints I found on Etsy for the walls.

His closet is already full of the cutest clothes and the greatest baby gear that everyone gave us.  We are truly overwhelmed and blessed by all of the goodies everyone provided for us.  Our baby boy is already so loved!

I created a page to show the pictures of the nursery so - Take a Tour!

Baby Bump Update - 7th Edition

So, we are reaching the final countdown a-la Europe style. 19 days and counting!

Dr. Visit:
I'm down to weekly visits to the Dr. now.  I'll spare you the details but basically little guy shows no signs of making his debut.  My blood pressure and his heart rate are good.  He is measuring "good".  Apparently if everything is as it should be, my Dr. just says "good".  So, I'm going to take that for what it is and assume everything is normal or she'd say something.

I've gained a total of 29 lbs.  I am not completely horrified by that number but I hope it doesn't increase too much over the next 3 weeks.  That said, I know baby needs to gain weight so I'll try to maintain my weight and let him grow.

Bump:
You can check out the bump page for a view of the whole progression.

34 weeks

35 weeks

36 weeks

37 weeks

Food Cravings:
I wouldn't say I have any cravings specifically.  I'm still just stuck on sweets and have been for awhile now.  That could possibly, maybe be what's contributing to the number on the scale, but I'm not positive about that.  ;)  With several baby showers, I've had plenty of sugar and my sweet tooth is LOVING it.

Sleep:
Eh.  Some nights I crash and sleep for 5-6 hours at a time.  Other nights, I'm up 3-4 times.  It's like I have a baby in my belly or something.  Haha.  Gods way of preparing me I guess.  It's not so much the getting up that bothers me because I can usually go back to sleep; it's just that I wake up still tired and sore.  Sometimes I wake up feeling like there's a baby sitting on my sternum.  Haha.

Movement:
All the time!  Baby boy is so big now that I feel him everywhere, all at the same time.  He is constantly moving around in there, which is a good thing.  Makes me want to meet him.

Exercise:
I try to exercise. . . TRY being the key word there.  My hubby and I go on walks around the neighborhood and about two miles is all I can take.  It is sad.  I did go to the gym the other day and do some light arm and shoulder exercises.

What I'm Looking Forward To:
We are very much looking forward to meeting our baby.  I know he should stay in my belly a few more weeks, but we're ready and can't wait to finally hold him!

There will probably only be one more baby bump update after this!  Whooo Hooo!
